Forest Observation Walk

Forest Observation Walk

Discover the wonders of the woods on a slow-paced, sensory-rich Forest Observation Walk. This calm, self-guided experience suits a wide range of ages, and takes about 30 minutes to complete—just right for a gentle family stroll or a quiet walk alone.

How It Works

The Forest Observation Walk takes place within our Woodland Garden. Each stop on the walk is interpreted by a single card, which corresponds to a numbered marker in the garden.

Each card offers an "all-ages" invitation to notice, touch, or listen. Flip the card for surprising facts about the role each part plays to sustain a healthy Pacific Northwest forest.

To find the cards, make your way to our Children's Garden and step inside The Forest House. After you finish your Forest Observation Walk, return the cards back to The Forest House for the next guests to enjoy.

We hope you and your family will enjoy slowing down to take a deeper look at the living systems that support our native woodlands.

"In every walk with Nature one receives far more than they seek."
