Young explorers and their grownups are invited to join us as we launch a new "Story Walk" all about amphibians! Retired librarian Gerry Jones will read Tales from the Shallows, an illustrated children’s story that follows two young amphibians as they find their place in the wild…and their way home.
The story is printed on large panels along a short, loop trail. Our Environmental Science intern, Atticus Abraham, will share additional facts and answer questions about these amazing animals.
Participants will meet in the Children's Garden starting at 10 a.m. Following a short playtime, the group walk and reading will begin. It will take 20-30 minutes to complete the Story Walk loop, which starts and ends in the Children’s Garden.
Youth participants must be supervised at all times. Guests are welcome to bring snacks and drinks, provided they “leave no trace.”
This event is free to members.
Not yet a member? This event is free with regular adult admission (children 12 & under visit free).
Following the launch party, the Story Walk will remain available for self-guided exploration all season.
